The signature directory in digital form as a prerequisite for SignatureNet
The issuing bank's signature directory must exist in electronic form.
If the directory is not available or only partially available electronically,
one of the following procedures must be used to digitize the signatures and
other information of the signature directory(name, signature right, stipulations etc.):
SignatureNet-online – data maintenance online
The initial recording of data is made by SignatureNet or by the bank itself online. After the signatures are switched on in SignatureNet, these customers will have SignatureNet-online – online data maintenance on the SignatureNet server. Changes, deletions or new recordings of employees with signature powers can be made by the bank itself online via a secure https connection.
A short demo of this feature you can find
here.
Scanning as a service of SignatureNet
SignatureNet offers the service of recording the existing signature directory
from paper or signature cards. This covers scanning in of the signatures and recording
of the other required information and texts, such as names, signature rights, stipulations, etc.
Specific software for preparation of signature directories
For banks that work with other software, SignatureNet provides a one-time
conversion program that creates the files needed for SignatureNet. A prerequisite is
that the software works with a database or database-similar structures. The costs for
this conversion program are billed according to the work involved.
Standard software such as MS Word, Pagemaker,
QuarkXPress or other
Banks that use standard software, such as MS Word, PageMaker etc., to
prepare their signature directories must deliver the directory as a PDF file, or it can be
converted into such by SignatureNet based on an optional assignment.
The PDF file is then placed on the Internet server in its entirety, that is, in
contrast to the database solution, the user bank must download the
entire directory and only then can it look at individual signatures.
The issuing bank should be aware that the PDF option has clear disadvantages and
security gaps compared to the online or database option. After the entire directory
is downloaded as PDF, what the authorized user does with it can no longer be verified.
The user can improperly place the PDF in his or her company's intranet or pass it on to
third parties, etc.
With SignatureNet-online only one signature at a time is displayed.
